Dirt Bike Gloves are Relatively Cheap Compared to the Amount of Protection They Provide!
Have you ever ridden without dirt bike gloves? Well most people know it doesn’t take a whole lot of gloveless riding before the palms of your hands, just under your knuckles, start to puff up and say “can we stop riding now!” The puffiness is a sure sign that blisters are on the way! So for around 30ish dollars you can protect your hands and look like a REAL rider as well. Although it is best to buy riding gloves as a matched set with the rest of your matching gear, you sometimes will need to replace your gloves before your riding pants or jersey. The fact is that your gloves can get a real work out compared to the rest of your gear.
So here are a few tips when it comes to selecting gloves.
Always check the size chart first. Most all manufacturers post a size chart on there web sites with measurements across the palm for exact fit. Remember though; stay on the large side because repeated washing will make them shrink just a bit. It is also wise to pay attention to the wrist retention area. My son as an example likes gloves with Velcro wrist bands rather than a form fitted one. When he gets sweaty the form fitted gloves, although look really cool, are a lot harder to get on an off.
