KTM Dirt Bikes
KTM dirt bikes has a slogan: “Ready to Race!” So it’s not hard to figure out what’s at the core of there design philosophy! Designed for all types of off road racing you can bet that KTM dissects the racing niche very well.
*** Send Us a Picture of Your KTM Dirt Bike ***

Starting with the little ones, KTM offers models from 50cc up to 85cc categorized by the term Sport Mini Cycles. In the 50cc size alone KTM offers 3 different models: the 50SX, 50SX MINI, and 50SX JUNIOR. All of these bikes are basically the same except each sport there own overall seat height with the SX version wearing the tallest stance with a larger front tire for a true extended suspension.
Next in line for junior is the 65SX and the 65XC with there true motocross styling and 64.9 cc 2 stroke engines. These KTM dirt bikes start there’re dirt bike careers by letting them learn on a true race bike. Both with manual 6 speed transmissions and a manual hydraulic clutch they learn early what a REAL dirt bike feels like! The only real difference between the two is the XC has a close-ratio transmission which works better in and trail/off road environment and the SX, well, it stands for supercross!
Starting around 11 years old! They grow up so fast! It’s time to think about the 85SX or XC. Again the only difference is the transmission ratio and the 85SX has always been the bike that everyone compares too at the motocross track. The XC’s transmission is set more for the trails and the SX geared for the track!
Once again can you say “Ready to Race”? After the sport mini’s it’s time to move into the full on SX ranks: stepping up from the 85SX your young man or daughter can throw his leg over a 105SX! The 105 is basically an 85 on steroids. It is the same frame size with larger tires and wheels and a fire breathing 105cc engine that usually always is the first to turn one!
Full Size Bikes
Moving into full size KTM dirt bikes; first on the list is the 125SX. With an optimized chassis and a 2-stroke with so much power that 4 strokes say, “What’s up!” it’s a bike that let’s your guy move up with an attitude!
Well in an anything goes 0-250 cc AMA class or a modified 125cc class the 144SX must be the bike to be on! The 144cc is a minimum maintenance and maximum attitude full on race bike. It makes you wonder why none of the other manufactures are building and promoting this bike!
Can you say “Easy maintenance and a ton of Power”? Well the 250SX can! Again, since the mighty AMA is going to let 250cc 2-stroke or 4 strokes run together, does the raw rideable power of the 4 stroke have a chance against the high RPM ripping 2-stroke? I guess the smoothest and best conditioned riders will make the call.
Ok, enough about the 2 smoking bikes and let’s talk about bikes with real manageable power. The 250SXF is the smallest displacement KTM on the list but, don’t rule out its cubic inches! A lightweight chassis with the majority of hole shots in 2007 it’s only natural other manufacturers are wondering what makes this bike so fast!
Ever lay it down in a race and kill the motor? Well the KTM450SX has you covered! Just push the button and start it up! KTM has the first 450 class bike with and electric start. With a ton of power from a stock 450 the KTM engineers have tested there hearts out for a strong 450. You’ll see this bike up front for sure!
